Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor - Teach Little Ones To Respect Elders

KUALA LUMPUR: Instil good values in your children as early as possible so they can grow up to be exemplary adults, said Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

The Prime Minister's wife said social problems had become more common among teenagers and advised parents to spend time teaching their children about respect.

“Teach our children to respect elders and appreciate their friends.

“If this value is instilled at a young age, it will become their principle as they become adults,” said Rosmah after opening the latest Permata child centre (PAPN) at the PPR Kerinchi flats here yesterday.

She also said nurturing of children should not be restricted to pre-schools or daycare centres.

“It is a pity if our children receive good education at their schools but it is not continued at home,” said Rosmah, also the Permata patron.

Rosmah expressed hope that more PAPN centres would be opened at low-cost flats like PPR Kerinchi.

PAPN is an early childhood education centre operated by Permata for children whose parents are from the low-income group.

Also present at the launch was Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin.
