Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor - Vital To Educate Gifted Children

DUBAI: Nurturing and educating the gifted and talented may lead to the betterment of humanity, said Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

In her opening remarks at the “Twelfth Asia-Pacific Conference on Giftedness” here, the Prime Minister’s wife noted that the world was now saddled with issues such as climate change, war on terror, social problems, food security, poverty and gender inequality.

“Our responsibility is to provide all facilities and infrastructure to ensure that the gifted among us achieve a higher purpose in life.

“We live in times when having the right kind of talent in our institutions has become important towards resolving 21st century problems,” she said at the opening of the conference, which was attended by more than 2,000 participants from all over the world.

The five-day event at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre was opened by Sheikh Hamdan Rashid Al Maktoum, who is Deputy Ruler of Dubai and United Arab Emirates’ Finance Minister.

Rosmah was invited to the conference based on her work with the Permata early childhood education and care programme.
